Teaching online with Classroom TA

Show your board in Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, or send students a live link to watch it on their own device.

You can teach online with the same board. On the board, click the screen button above full screen (bottom right) and choose how to present it. Use Chrome or Edge on a computer.

In Zoom, Meet or Teams

  1. Choose In Zoom, Meet or Teams. When Chrome asks what to share, choose This tab and press Share.
  2. A window called Classroom TA · Online class opens with only your board in it.
  3. In your video call, press Share screen, pick Window, then choose Classroom TA · Online class. Turn on Share sound (Zoom) or Also share tab audio / Include computer sound (Meet, Teams) so students hear the timer bell, the traffic light and music.
  4. Keep teaching from your board: the toolbar, menus and your other tabs stay private.

Live link for students

  1. Choose Live link for students, then This tab and Share.
  2. Copy the link that appears below your board and send it in the chat, Google Classroom or by email.
  3. Students open it on their own computer, tablet or phone. No account or app needed. They see the board live, sharper than a screen share, and you see how many are watching.
  4. Press Stop presenting when class is over. The link stops working right away.

The live link goes straight from your browser to each student's (up to 40 students), so a good internet connection helps. If a student can't connect (some school or home networks block it), share the board in your video call instead.

What works well online: the timer, clock and traffic light (breakout rooms, independent work), the name picker, calm down, reading time, music, the pompom jar and You belong. The noise meter listens to your own room, so it isn't useful in a video call.
